Ich versuche jetzt schon seit längerem div. Soundprobleme mit meinem Onboardchipsatz zu beheben, bei dem es sich um einen
Intel-HDA 82801H (ICH8 Family) (rev3) handelt. Der Sound im allgemeinen läuft. Doch gibt es Probleme mit div. Anwendungen die SDL / openAL verwenden (als Beispiel sei hier Neverwinter Nights genannt), Diese verweigern jegliche Tonausgabe, u.a. mit der Meldung das "das Gerät oder die Ressource" belegt sei.
Und nach der Ausgabe von aplay -l ist auch nur ein Kanal vorhanden.
aplay -l schriebcard 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC883 Analog [ALC883 Analog]

Ehrlich gesagt glaub ich nicht das der Chip kein Hardwaremixing unterstützt. Ich lasse mich aber gerne eines besseren belehren. Ich konnte trotz Nachforschungen keine Antwort für meinen konkreten Chipsatz finden.
Zudem scheint alsa auch den Codec nicht richtig zu erkennen. Wie man in der Ausgabe von
aplay -l sehen konnte nimmt alsa den
ALC883 Codec.
Andere Ausgaben lassen aber darauf schließen das der
ALC888 Codec der richtige wäre:

Mein Archlinux ist auf dem neuesten Stand und der Soundchip ist verbaut auf einem Acer Aspire 5920G.
