Seitenladefehler und langsamer Seitenaufbau bei Chromium

Hallo zusammen,

Kurzfassung des Problems: Chromium lässt Seiten abstürzen und läuft trotz guter Hardware eher Zäh.

Langfassung: Ich hatte als Haupt-PC ein Laptop aus 2012 mit i3-Prozessor und 16 Gb Ram und aktuellem Archlinux. Dort kam es zu oben genannten Problem.
Zeitgleich nutze ich einen Windows-Desktop-PC (Win10/i5/nvidia/12GB ram) für Windows-Dinge. Testweise hatte ich dort Crome genutzt(über Sync mit den gleichen Erweiterungen wie auf der Linux-Maschine) Da lief alles viel schneller, Seitenauf waren im nu da und es stützten auch keine Seiten ab.
Weil von der Hardware als Problem ausging hatte ich auf dem Windows-Desktop-PC Archlinux installiert. Dort gibt es aber das gleiche Problem, wie bei dem schwächeren Laptop.
Auf illegalen Seiten, wo Schadsoftware verbreitet wird treibe ich mich nicht rum. Gmail und Tumblr stürzen sehr häufig ab(auch mit deaktivierten Erweiterungen). Ich habe im Schnitt 10 Tabs offen, die ich auch brauche. Nebenbei habe ich nur Dolphin, die Konsole und VLC offen.

Wie kann ich Chromium flott kriegen? An der Hardware scheint es ja nicht zu liegen

niemand schriebMal die lokale Konfiguration und den lokalen Cache (~/.config/chromium/ bzw. ~/.cache/chromium/) entsorgt und nochmal probiert?

Ja das habe ich auch gemacht. Ich habe das Problem woanders gefunden: der Prozess plasmashell läuft 5x und zieht auf allen 4 CPU-Kernen 100%.
Ein Nachgooglen ergab, dass der Bug mehr als 2 Jahre existiert. Ich habe aber nicht das Wissen und Können, mich um 2 Jahre alte Bugs zu kümmern, woran sich bestimmt auch schon fähigere Köpfe versucht haben und teste mal Awesomestatt KDE, wovon ich bisher nur gutes gehört habe.

Leider habe ich mich zu früh gefreut. Das Problem besteht weiterhin. Ich habe jetzt Fluxbox installiert, weil ich das schon kannte. Alle 4 CPU-Kerne laufen laut htop mit 2-4% Auslastung. 2 von 12 gb Ram werden aktuell genutzt. Die Internetleitung ist mit 50 Mbit mehr als ausreichended. Resourcen sind wohl genug da. Trotzdem crasht Chromium, wenn ich 10 Tabs auf einmal öffne. Testweise habe ich Google Chrome stable aus dem AUR installiert -> das gleiche Problem.

die Fehlermeldung kam beim Einloggen von Tumblr, die Seiten konnten sich aufbauen und es kam erst später zum Crash:

Segfaults sind es nicht, aber ich kann es mal mit intel-ucode probieren.(ist nicht installiert)

Wo komme ich an das Journal? Google ist da nicht hilfreich.

Du könntest den eigenen Chromium-Debugger mal mitaufrufen und schauen, an was sich Chromium verschluckt. Vielleicht hilft das bei der Eingrenzung weiter.

kenne ich bei der Darstellung von Bildern im Conky.
Sie kann entweder ignoriert werden: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=168144

Im Debian-Forum ist der Fehler mal in anderem Kontext im Zusammenhang mit RC4 erwähnt worden und ließ sich da durch Blacklisten beheben. Tumblr hat zwar kein RC4, aber wenn wenn Chromium dort beim Einloggen abschmiert, könnte das eventuell in Richtung Zertifikate weisen …

Beim Einloggen chrasht tumblr nicht. Der Crash kommt, wenn 10 Tabs gleichzeitig geöffnet werden. Vielleicht ist der Crash nur eine Sicherheitsroutine? Die anderen Seiten bleiben ja bestehen, nur die Tumblr-Seiten crashen gleichzeitig.

Der pthread_create-Error tritt jedenfalls dann auf, wenn das User-Limit an Threads erschöpft ist. [1]
Mit "ulimit -a" lässt sich das Limit prüfen. Wenn du Chromium bis hart an die Tumblr-Grenze kurz vor dem Abschmieren halten kannst, könntest du nachschauen, wie viele Threads Chromium offen hat:

$ ps -elfT | grep chromium | wc -l

Näheres ist an dieser Stelle besser erklärt.

Bei 438 habe ich angefangen(es waren schon 5 Tabs offen) bei 479 ist er abgeschmiert und dann braucht er 464 threads.

Ein Limit per User ist nicht gesetzt. Daran kann es also nicht liegen. Bei der Funktionsbeschreibung von pthread_create gibt es diesen Hinweis [2]:
»The pthread_create() function will fail if:
Not enough system resources to create a process for the new thread, or more than PTHREAD_THREADS_MAX threads are already active.«

Da letztere nur durch den Arbeitspeicher vom Kernel limitiert sind, wird das vermutlich auch nicht relevant sein.

cat /proc/sys/kernel/threads-max

Limits pro Prozess bzw. PID werden m. E. auch keine Rolle spielen, weil Chromium ja nicht in einem, sondern einer ganzen Reihe von Prozessen läuft. Ein aktueller Bug liegt auch nicht vor. [2]

Hast du schon @niemands Anregung mit intel-ucode umgesetzt?
