Das Problem mit den Umlauten

Hey Leute,

ich habe bei Arch Linux schon seit laengerem mit der Sprache zu kaempfen.
Das Ding ist, dass ich zuerst alles wie im Wiki gemacht habe und als Sprache de_DE.UTF-8 verwendet habe, was allerdings dazu fuehrte, dass mein halbes System auf englisch war und die andere Haelfte auf deutsch. Besonders Cinnamon und die entsprechenden Filemanager taten sich mit dem deutschen schwer. Ich habe solange rumprobiert, bis ich gemerkt habe, dass ich die Sprache auf de_DE gesetzt habe, was irgendein ISO Format verwendet.
Mein Sprachproblem hat sich geloest und ich kann im Terminal auch saemtliche Umlaute ae,oe,ue und ss benutzen, aber wie man hier vielleicht sieht, funktionieren die Umlaute nicht in Chromium. Hier bekomme ich fuer ein ue: [, ae: ' oe: ; und ss: - .
Ich kann zwar Ordnern Umlaute als Namen geben, aber scheinbar tut sich auch OwnCloud schwer damit meine alten Ordnernamen mit Umlauten, die bereits in der Cloud sind mit meinem system zu synchronisieren. Das Problem gibt es nicht bei Windows oder Ubuntu.

Ich hoffe ich koennt mir bezueglich der 2 Probleme behilflich sein, so das fuer mich das Arbeiten mit arch angenehmer wird.

Die 90er sind vorbei. Auf UTF-8 umstellen, aber flott.

Lies doch mal den Mainthread, da hab ich doch erl'utert dass cinnamon bzw mein Filemanager (welcher das auch immer ist) dann so nen halbes Deutsch bzw. Englisch verwendet, wenn ich bei LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 angebe!

Und ein einfacher wechsel in locale.gen hat gar keine Folge, wenn ich nichts anderes aender...

Du solltest sicherstellen, daß die von dir verwendete (in /etc/locale.conf eingetragene) Locale auch generiert wird (in /etc/locale.gen eingetragen und anschließend irgendwann mal locale-gen ausgeführt). Momentan unterscheiden sich deine Einträge.
