Hallo Community,
nachdem mein Brother HL-2030 lange Zeit brav gedruckt hat, ist er nun nicht mehr ansprechbar. Das Problem ist irgendwann in den letzten Wochen aufgetreten (vermutlich im Zuge eines Updates). Mein Drucker wird in keinem Druckdialog mehr aufgelistet, direkt über die cups-Seite lässt sich noch eine Testseite drucken, aber sonstige Aufträge können nicht angenommen werden. Wie gesagt scheint er auch in den gtk-Druckdialogen nicht mehr auf, in qt-Dialogen wird er zwar gelistet, druckt aber nicht auf Befehl. Ich kann das Problem leider nicht präzisieren, aber ich hänge mal ein paar log-files von cups an.

Ich habe den Drucker mehrfach neu installiert und alle cups-Treiber durchprobiert, die in der Vergangenheit funktioniert haben.
Das Problem ist leider sehr wage beschrieben, aber sonstige Angaben fielen mir nicht ein. Ich bedanke mich für eure Hilfe!

Sowohl auf dem Server, als auch auf den Clients kann ich diesen Drucker verwenden. Folgende Einstellungen verwende ich:

Ort:           Dirks Zimmer
Treiber:       Brother HL-2060 Foomatic/hl1250 (grayscale)
Verbindung:    usb://Brother/HL-2030%20series?serial=J7J674896
Einstellungen: job-sheets=none, none media=iso_a4_210x297mm
Standardeinstellungen:
Page Size:     A4
Toner Saving:  Off
Media Source:  Automatic
Resolution:    600 DPI
Was sind deine Cups-Einstellungen auf http://HOST:631/admin/?ADVANCEDSETTINGS=YES (HOST natürlich entsprechend deiner Umgebung anpassen *g*)?

Dank avahi erkennen die Clients den Drucker selbständig. Wie machst du das? Druckst du direkt auf dem Client, oder benutzt du ihn als Netzwerkdrucker?

Hast du mal aus der Kommandozeile einen Druckauftrag abgeschickt? Das Ganze mal mit root?
Danke für eure Antworten. Die cups-Einstellungen sind korrekt, ich habe sie für eine bessere Vergleichbarkeit auf deine Werte geändert. usblp ist geblockt und der Drucker scheint wie folgt in cups auf: 
Beschreibung:	Brother HL-2030 series

Ich verwende den Drucker direkt vom Arbeitsplatz aus und er ist nicht als Netzwerkdrucker eingerichtet. Wenn ich über die Kommandozeile drucke erhalte ich folgenden Fehler:

lp: Fehler – Scheduler reagiert nicht!
Du hast den usblp geblockt. Ist normalerweise auch richtig. Mach aber trotzdem ein modprobe usblp und nochmal einen Ausdruck aus der Konsole. Das Modul wird dann geladen auch wenn es geblacklistet wird. cups neustarten. (Nur so mal zum Test).

Wie ich in den Foren gelesen habe, muß einmal der usblp geladen sein und einmal nicht. Hängt von einigen Dingen ab. Falls du usblp dann immer haben willst, so kann cups neu gebaut werden. Die Configoptionen können in der PKGBUILD geändert werden.

Auszug aus PKGBUILD:

Was mir noch einfällt, es könnte was an der printers.conf etwas nicht stimmen.

Cups stoppen. Cups deinstallieren. Nachsehen ob die /etc/printers.conf weg ist. Wenn nicht dann löschen. Falls was Anderes noch von cups da ist dann auch löschen.
Cups neu installieren und den Drucker neu einrichten.

oder:

Ich weiß nicht ob es reicht die printers.conf zu löschen ohne cups neu zu installieren. Vielleicht einfach ausprobieren.

Du kannst noch in den linuxprinting.org nachsehen was da für ein Treiber vorgeschlagen wird.

Das ganze System neu, das war sicher bitter. Was muss ich denn beachten, um nicht über den Bug zu stolpern???? Wieviel Platz brauche ich mindestens?

Übrigens, bei Debian geht das auch in die Hose, wie ich selbst bemerkt habe!

Na ja, das war nicht ganz so schlimm, weil bis auf ein paar Programme auf / die wichtigen Daten in einem eigenen Dateisystem sind, und die Konfiguration quasi nicht vorhanden ist. Ein bisschen mehr als Neuinstallieren und eben meinen HL-2030 wieder mit CUPS zu verheiraten war da zum Glück nicht.

Zum Bug schau mal hier so ab Mitte des Threads (warum gibt es eigentlich immer noch keine Sprungmarken für einzelne Posts?)
Obwohl ich cups schon einmal erfolglos neu installiert hatte, scheint nun nach einer erneuten Installation mein Drucker wieder auf. Er funktioniert wieder einwandfrei. Danke euch zwei für die Hilfe und noch einen schönen Abend!
