Hallo,

Die Installation von Archlinux war kinderleicht und der Kernel hat auch alle nötigen Treiber insbesondere die fuer Netzwerkkarte erkannt. Dann kam leider die böse Überraschung: Ich adde brav den user, prüfe Datum und etc. und wollte pacman Arbeit aufhalsen. Is' klar dass der meckert (wuerde ich auch wenn ich alles upgraden soll) "Habe keine Internetverbindung".

"ifconfig" und "ifconfig -a" lassen mich natuerlich erschrecken. Nichts zu sehen von eth0, welches bei der Installation allerdings da war.
Unterscheidet sich der Kernel der Instalallation so stark vom eigentlichem, dass dieser nach der Installation auch weniger Hardware unterstützt? Kann nicht sein, oder?

was steht denn in deiner rc.conf bei den Interfaces? Ich musste bei mir dort

Unterscheidet sich der Kernel der Instalallation so stark vom eigentlichem, dass dieser nach der Installation auch weniger Hardware unterstützt? Kann nicht sein, oder?
Kann sehr wohl sein, der Installerkernel ist ein 2.6.28er und der nun laufende ist ein 2.6.29er, sieht nach einem Treiber- oder ACPI-Bug aus.

Treiber ist ja da, aber kann nicht geladen werden.

Sehr interessant, scheinbar ist der Treiber im neuen Kernel kaputt (also für meine Karte geht er, aber ich hab nur ne NetLink).
Quick an dirty Fix: alten Kernel mit pacman -U installieren: http://www.schlunix.org/archlinux/core/
Musst du halt per USB-Stick einspielen.
skull-y: Die rc.conf ist in Ordnung.

Rain_Maker: sowas habe ich ehrlich gesagt befuerchtet. 🙁 Soll ich mich jetzt irgendwo melden und woanders noch posten. Bug Tracker oder aehnliches? Das habe ich bisher noch nie machen müssen. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit bei der Installation einen anderen Kernel auszuwaehlen oder soll ich am besten derweil einfach eine andere Distri installieren? So dringlich bin ich hier nicht an archlinux gebunden. Dachte nur, waer mal wieder lustig das auszuprobieren.

kann mich jemand bitte aufklären, über die Aussagen seiner Log-Dateien? Bissel was lernen will man ja auch noch.
tg3.c ist wohl die entsprechende Daten des Quelltextes vom Treiber der geladen werden soll. Bei google findet man sogar den entsprechenden Quelltext.

Naja und beim obigem Log steht nur, dass die erfolgreich geladen wurde (tg3.c vom August 2008) und beim neuem (December 2008) gibts Fehler beim laden des Treibers. Keine Ahnung genau woran (Beim Reservieren vom Speicher? Kann ich mir ja eigentlich nicht vorstellen.. Dass nen malloc irgendwo versagt?)

Naja das steht zumindest so grob in den Teilen, den die beiden geschrieben haben.

habe nen neuen Kernel eingespielt und es funktioniert wieder alles. Kann ich pacman jetzt sagen, dass er den jetzt nicht upgrade soll, wenn ich ein Systemupgrade machen möchte?

Hallo,

ich hab diesen Thread mal wieder nach oben geholt.

Auch bei meinem neuen Board mit einer Broadcom Gigabit Netzwerkkarte, die
intern laut Bezeichnung über PCIe angeschlossen ist, brauch ich das tg3 Modul.

Leider funktioniert das nicht, ich bekomme folgende Meldung:

ich möchte jetzt ungern einenn alten Kernel installieren, weil sich doch was mit den Kernel-Headern geändert hat soweit ich weiß, und ich keine Ahnung hab, was ich dann alles installieren und deinstallieren muss.

Ausserdem finde ich den 2.6.28 nicht mehr im Netz als Arch Paket.

Kann mir jemand eine einfache, oder bessere Lösung für dieses Problem sagen?

Genau das ist mein Problem, ich habe mir das jetzt mal etwas genauer angeschaut und festgestellt, dass ich keine Mac Adresse habe.

Im bios, wo das eigentlich stehen sollte, steht nur "Nicht verfügbar"

Das Board habe ich aus einem Lenovo M55 ausgebaut und es funktioniert eigentlich einwandfrei, aber eventuell hat es doch n Knacks.

Momentan behelfe ich mir mit einer alten Standardnetzwerkkarte, aber es wäre schon schöner, wenn ich die Onboard Lösung nutzen könnte.

Mal sehen, was ich so finde (bevor ich mich ans Treiber patchen mache, das muss ich nämlich erst lernen 😉 )

Also da scheint mein Board wirklich kaputt zu sein.

Hab ein Bios Update gemacht, die Bios Batterie raus genommen etc. pp, aber ich bekomme keine MAC Adresse im Bios angezeigt.

Also entweder ich schalte die Karte im Bios aus oder ich patche den Treiber wirklich.

Wie muss ich denn da vorgehen? In welcher Datei muss ich die Änderungen vornehmen? Das sagt der Artikel leider nciht aus.

Vielleicht kann mir da jemand weiter helfen, damit ich das mal teste.
