2 Fragen: Dual Monitor/empfehlenswerte USB-Soundkarte

Hallo zusammen,

eben hab ich den Desktop weggerückt und dann halt eben auch den TFT an die Dockingstation angeschlossen :-0) Nur leider... Spielt er mir die Monitore, statt sie getrennt voneinander zu benutzen. Im KDE Systemeinstellungsdingens (unter Anzeige) hab ich auch keine Möglichkeit gefundne, das umzustellen. Die gibts aber sicher, oder?

Das zweite:
Ich hab hier ein 7.1 Boxensystem rumstehen und würde die eigentlich auch gerne wieder anschließen, die Boxen des Notebooks sind nich so pralle 😉
Hat jemand von euch eine externe 5.1(oder höher) USB-Soundkarte, die problemlos einzurichten ging? Falls ja: Welche denn?

ich hab das bei mir mit aticonfig und libxinerama geloest und die monitore ueber einander stehn 😉

Ich hab ne onboard Intelkarte und nutz auch den Treiber, ne neue X.org hatte ich auch schon erstellt. Aber leider find ich keine Möglichkeit sie nebeneinander zu stellen, doof.

ich hatte in nem engl. Thread gelesen, man solle so einen xrandr-Behehl ausführen (zumindest hab ich es so verstanden; dummerweise ist mein englisch fast nicht existent), da kommt aber auch nich viel bei rum:

xrandr --output TDMS --right-of LVDS
Xlib:  extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":0.0".

Zumindest sagt es mir nichts. Es macht auch keinen Unterschied ob ich TDMS oder TDMS-1 schreib (in KDE -> Systemeinstellungen -> Monitor heißt der externe TDMS-1).

was anderes war nicht noetig...
habe das arch gestern neu installiert ud nur meine alte xorg.conf reinkopiert und dann lief es sofort...andere Befehle oder installation zusaetzlicher Software war nicht erforderlich...

EDIT2:

habe eben noch ein bischen weitergelesen und gesehen, dass es bei mir auch die Section Device, Monitor und Screen doppelt gibt...
muesste dann auch och eingetragen werden...aber das scheint mir zu viel arbeit zu sein, das heisst, dass es noch einen anderen WEg geben muss, das zu loesen...kann dir also hier leider nicht weiter helfen... sry

Als ich das hinzugefügt habe konnte X nicht mehr starten bei mir. Schade 🙁

Habe hier auch 2. Monitor wird auch erkannt aber das Bild wird nur geklont.

Benutze die freien ati treiber und habe kein xorg.conf mehr. Deswegen würde ich gern wissen was man ändern muss damit es auch ohne xorg.conf läuft.

naja xorg.conf wollte ich eigentlich nicht mehr nutzen
dachte das es dafür vlt auch wieder eine fdi datei gibt mit entsprechenden einträgen

Damit ermöglich man 1280x800 + 1024x768. Eigentlich würde ja 2304 800 reichen, aber dann kann man den Bildschirm nicht mehr drehen, falls man das braucht.

ganz gleich ob als root oder als user ausgeführt.

Das Xlib Zeugs ist irrelevant. Und xrandr als root kann auch nicht funktionieren.
Gibts sonst keine Fehlermeldung?

Ich habs als root nur zum "Spaß" getestet, nicht, dass das doch wichtig gewesen wäre.

Hatte an meiner Xorg.conf was gedreht - einen zweiten Monitor hinzugebaut (nutze aber nix), nu scheint sie aber weg?!? Löscht der Xserver die, wenn er sie nich mag?!

in Gnome gehts einwandfrei - eigenartig.

Also in Gnome gehts - wenn ich mich in Gnome abmelde und dann in KDE anmelde gehts auch (alleridngs wechselt der "Hauptmonitor" vom TFT zum Notebook), starte ich nue gehts in KDE nich mehr.
Sehr komisch.

Brauch ich für xrandr vllt irgendein Modul oder so? Überlege eh, ob ich nich den TFT abbaue. Das Notebook hat kaum ne kleinere Auflösung und wenn nich würde ich wohl auch mit 2 oder mehreren virtuellen Desktops auskommen - ist denk ich nur Gewöhnungssache-.
Finde das Verhalten aber trotzdem eigenartig.
